Junior Developer, Travel Automation Hybrid

Full time, Austin, Texas, United States

 

As a Programmer, Travel Automation, you will be working on applications that support a Global Travel, Meetings & Events program on the Apple account. You will fulfill enhancement requests and bug tickets to improve agent productivity, decrease errors and support industry requirements.  

  

As a Junior Developer, Travel Automation, you will

  • Develop ‘scope of work’ including the estimated level of effort and delivery date for requests   

  • Program requirements per department standards and best practices  

  • Perform comprehensive testing on your programming  

  • Coding must pass peer review and quality assurance testing before being delivered to the end user  

  • Program and customize global travel agency desktop routines for automation initiatives  

  • Provide a proactive and consultative approach to front and mid office development; design solutions that increase agent productivity and decrease errors   

  • Create and enhance existing mid-office automation library including testing and posting of new versions  

  • Learn, understand, and adhere to department guidelines and procedures consistently  

  • Use effective time management to work on multiple requests concurrently and deliver on time per department service level agreement  

  

About you    

  • Programming experience in Qik, Python, Swift, or an equivalent language 

  • Travel reservations and process experience  

  • Working knowledge of Sabre GDS technology (the training will be delivered)  

  • Working knowledge of database integrations to other products, SQL, and experience with API integrations  

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and process reengineering skills  

  • Proficient computer skills, preference for Apple products, and project management knowledge  

  • Good people skills and ability to work with diverse cultures  

  • Ability to work daily hours to support BCD business in appropriate country/region local time zone as requested by leadership  

  • Ability to use and communicate in English as the primary language

At BCD Travel we value you, our culture and success is defined by you. We carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors, including your professional background and experience. The salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US for the position of Programmer, Travel Automation is between $59,000 and $75,000. The actual pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience and geographical location.
