Systems Engineer II Messaging and Directory Services Remote
Full-time, Remote, United States
The Systems Engineer II (SEII) position supports the planning, engineering, automation, and promotion of improved infrastructure architectures and best practices around directory, messaging, and Office 365 technologies.
An SEII monitors their primary and supporting infrastructure systems performance and proactively makes recommendations to tune and optimize from an infrastructure and systems perspective. There are design and technical expectations with this position, which requires an individual with proven experience.
As a Systems Engineer II (Messaging and Directory Services), you will
- Create and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on any operational or administrative tasks
- Provide troubleshooting and problem resolution of the entire directory and messaging services infrastructures, the various supporting IT Infrastructures, and event logs of vendor tools
- Research, document, identify, and knowledge transfer root cause of issues
- Effectively collaborate with Server / Storage / Network / Data Center / Facilities / Audit / Compliance and PMO teams
- Manage problem and service tickets, ensuring timely resolution to meet Service Level Agreements
- Be a resource on Sev1 and Sev2 incidents, along with a resource on projects
About you
- Extensive experience in Information Systems is required. You also need previous experience with Windows Server Operating Systems and Directory Services along with experience with an Exchange Server in a high availability environment (DAG, DR)
- Proficient or increasing knowledge of O365 (hybrid model) and O365 supporting technologies
- Experience with DNS (including Windows and Infoblox), WINS, PKI, ADFS, KMS, and AD Connect
- Experience troubleshooting, evaluating, and fixing Directory Services issues and Exchange Messaging Services issues
- Working knowledge of scripting technologies (i.e. PowerShell, VBScript, VB.NET, or other scripting languages for automation purposes)
- Working networking knowledge of TCP/IP stack, protocols configuration, and troubleshooting along with Windows DNS, WINS, PKI, and KMS environments

The salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US for the position of Systems Engineer II (Messaging and Directory Services) is between $90,000 and $100,000. The actual pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience and geographical location.
