Managing Consultant, Hotel Spend Management - Advito (Remote)

As Managing Consultant, Hotel Spend Management - Advito, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of consultants who directly deliver hotel consulting engagements to new and existing mid and large-market clients. Consultants deliver and manage the engagements, but managing consultants oversee their success by stepping in as needed to add support, custom deliverable design and client engagement. Managing consultants are also equally responsible for leading the hotel practice, they are responsible for: staffing assignments and adequate resource load, pipeline management with sales and sales support, project scope documentation and design, project delivery processes, deliverable design and quality. 


Our consulting practice has adopted and drives a more modern approach to hotel spend management within the industry. Powerful analytics, innovative sourcing strategies and Advito's ongoing performance management helps our clients elevate their hotel programs beyond traditional sourcing. Managing consultants play a key role in designing and implementing the processes our consultants use to bring these solutions to our clients in ways they can be easily adopted. 


The successful candidate will be skilled at delegation, project timeline and scope/budget management, client relationship management and be a passionate people leader. You will also be well versed in the hotel industry with respect to the common metrics and data points used in transient corporate hotel travel and be comfortable engaging with industry leaders to stay abreast of and contribute to industry developments. You will be effective at utilizing proprietary and third-party tools and technologies in conducting analyses, negotiating with suppliers, managing teams and providing actionable recommendations to clients.

 

As a Managing Consultant, Hotel Spend Management, you will

  • Lead a global team of high performing, client facing consulting professionals
  • Establish, grow and maintain effective, long-term working relationships with clients focused on optimizing their corporate travel hotel spend
  • Coach your team on how to most effectively partner with clients to throughout hotel program consulting engagements with the goal of elevating their program to new level in alignment with industry evolution
  • Assess style and demeanor of each client and adjust your style to drive change within each client organization, as well as coach each consultant on your team to do the same
  • Identify additional revenue opportunities with the client from both current and future engagements
  • Understand and coach your team in how to leverage data, analytics, current and impending hotel spend management techniques, tools and opportunities that go beyond hotel sourcing to create hotel spend management strategy recommendations for clients
  • Optimize the processes and protocols consultants follow in partnering with the hotel support team to execute upon strategy; integrating that team into overall project plans and delegate actionable tasks through to completion which directly impact client’s bookable rates
  • Determine ideal balance of solutions to optimize client’s complex hotel programs – i.e., rate structures, program monitoring solutions, OBT merchandising strategies and other policy and marketing initiatives
  • Drive and own solutions to manage, as well as evolve and optimize, how the practices manages and maintains client project information, project plans and sales activities in hotel’s resource management and sales tracking tools
  • Be a visible leader within the team, make yourself available to mentoring all internal team members and support their development via delegation of tasks and skill-appropriate participation in client delivery and practice initiatives

 

About you                               

  • Prior experience in a client-facing customer success, change management or consulting role
  • Proven team and project leadership experience with a passion for leading and developing others to be successful
  • High EQ and enjoys building global relationships that allow for open communication and trust with both internal and external customers
  • Able to communicate complex ideas and challenging messages effectively, verbally, visually and in writing, to both internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Comfortable with technology and its use as an enabler
  • Advanced math and critical analysis skills, ability to decode and translate visualizations and translate data into actions
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate data-driven suggestions and outcomes
  • Strong ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Self-starter with a consultative approach
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality results within project deadlines
  • Ability to work with diverse, cross-functional international teams
  • Excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills
