Operations Manager (Remote) 

This role will perform some Meeting Air Coordinator (MAC) responsibilities 

Full time, United States

Hours for the role: 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM Central Time

 

The Manager - Operations is responsible for the overall management and performance of the travel operations including operational performance, client servicing and retention, employee management and budgetary and cost management. This position demonstrates an extensive understanding and applicability of all areas in the travel industry, call center operations and client servicing. Span of control will be based on number and complexity of accounts and number of direct reports.

 

The Manager will perform some Meeting Air Coordinator (MAC) responsibilities as part of their wider role. In the MAC capacity, the Manager is responsible for booking and/or ticketing airline reservations as requested by our program participants and as assigned group programs.  This position will be responsible for providing guidance to clients on our services and qualifying all meeting requests.  Also responsible for providing support services to event manager and Meeting Planners and assist as needed to ensure the successful completion of meeting and or event.

 

As an Operations Manager, you will

  • Establish business-driven development plans for individuals, teams, and/or departments
  • Review operations performance reports and provide direction and implement programs to improve the performance of the operations against goals
  • Ensure customer satisfaction is measured through provided tools and goals are met; implementing plans for continuous improvement
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Account Manager and the operational staff; ensuring all client needs are met
  • Serve as main contact within the operations team for all participant services related to an event
  • Seek opportunities to review operational processes and the commercial relationship with customer, working with commercial teams to implement suggestions for improvement
  • Monitor and control departmental expenses, seeking and implementing improvements to improve the profitability of the operations
  • Support online registration via CVENT with online bookings via Concur
  • Provide guidance & support on the meeting registration technology and reporting
  • Be responsible for Quality Control of meeting data

 

About you

  • Prior travel agency and GDS Sabre experience 
  • Knowledge of incentive/meeting program elements; experience with group bookings, blocked space, manual ticket issuance Working knowledge of domestic and international air travel destinations
  • Knowledge of OBTs, including Concur
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Previous experience working in a team environment
  • Strong problem solving and/or critical thinking skills
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with a strong ability to manage multiple complex projects and shifting timetables
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

At BCD Travel we value you, our culture and success is defined by you. We carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors, including your professional background and experience. The salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US for the position of Manager Operations is between $79,000 and $80,000. The actual pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience and geographical location.
