Manager Accounting (Hybrid)

Full time, Tokyo, Japan

In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation of all the financial reporting requirements of BCD Travel in Japan. You will establish financial policies and procedures to ensure that the assets of the company are secure and expenditures are properly outlined.

As a Manager Accounting, you will

• Be accountable for timely and accurate company’s financial reporting and analysis
• Help manage the month-end close process, including accruals, prepayments, journals, balance sheet reconciliations, finance report preparation
• Ensure timely completion and review of account reconciliations
• Provide oversight of reconciliations for Accounts Payable (including BSP Billing Settlement Plan), Accounts Receivable
• Recommend and develop policies, procedures, and systems to meet company objectives
• Be responsible for implementing technology to improve accounting and reporting processes
• Supervise and coach the Accounting Team
• Become a subject matter expert on finance systems and workflows
• Prepare and maintain policy and procedure documentation for finance to ensure proper oversight and governance
• Advise business partners of correct finance governance and compliance requirements as they relate to external and internal policies, procedures, and regulations
• Address business needs proactively, pre-empt issues in advance, and devise mitigating plans and workflows are in plan to ensure smooth end-to-end operations

About you

• University degree or equivalent experience
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Sound knowledge of Controlling and Financial Reporting
• Professional knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Independent, goal- and results-oriented work style
