Leave of Absence and Accommodation Administrator (Remote)

Full time, United States

 

The Leave of Absence and Accommodation Administrator holds an important role within our People and Culture department, focusing on managing and overseeing leave of absence processes. This position involves ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies while providing support to employees navigating various types of leaves, accommodations, and workers’ compensation. Additionally, you will collaborate with our external partner engaged in facilitating leave-related matters for BCD Travel.

 

As a Leave of Absence and Accommodation Administrator, you will 

  • Process appropriate leave of absence, accommodation and workers’ compensation paperwork in accordance with all applicable laws
  • Coordinate with third party vendor and performs all the necessary follow-up to ensure timely completion of paperwork related to leave of absence requests
  • Notify management of employee’s leave or accommodation status as necessary
  • Ensure HRIS systems is updated accordingly
  • Maintain Leave and Disability documentation as required by law or the company
  • Ensure compliance with ADA and responsible for the ADA interactive process
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation (WC) claims with third party vendor
  • Ensure third party vendor performs daily tracking, organizing and coordination of leaves for employees, notifying employees of their eligibility and rights, advising employees of their health benefit status and tracking payments, coordinating employee’s return to work and responding to accommodation requests, generating leave related reports and responding to all leave related questions.
  • Maintain working knowledge of HR-related regulations with respect to government programs regulating leaves
  • Consult with manager and employees on how to apply company HR policy and legal regulations
  • Assist with benefit training for employees and leaders
  • Educate and provide guidance to functional leaders and senior leaders on legal developments
  • Lead change management projects

 

About you

  • Prior experience in leave administration, preferably in a corporate or HR setting or consulting company
  • A strong understanding of federal and state employment laws in the United States, particularly those related to leave of absence. Familiarity with regulations such as the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Workers’ Compensation (WC)
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, provide solutions, and make informed decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with employees, managers, and external partners
  • Experience in collaborating with internal clients and external partners. Being able to work effectively in a team and build positive relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple cases, keep accurate records, and meet deadlines consistently

The salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US for the position of Leave of Absence and Accommodation Administrator is between $55,000 and $70,000. The pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
