Engineer, Information Technology (Remote) 

Full time, United Kingdom

BCD Travel is looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Network Engineer to join our Team, to build, configure, and operate the organization’s Enterprise Network, LAN, WAN, WiFi, Datacenter & Cloud as part of a global team of 8-12 Network Engineers.

 

As a Network Engineer, you will

  • Design and implement networks for new and existing offices and datacenters
  • Create and maintain accurate technical plans, drawings, bill of materials, configurations & documentation, including high and low level designs to support projects and day-2 operations 
  • Perform Network Operations, based on tickets, troubleshooting network issues at 2nd / 3rd line Engineering level
  • Work closely with the NOC and the global Network Engineering team to maintain the Enterprise network including Capacity Planning, Disaster Recovery, Availability, and Patch Management
  • Manage incidents, requests, and problems, working closely with the Service Management team to effectively document troubleshooting, manage major incidents, and maintain accurate device and location inventory in the CMDB
  • Maintain expert level knowledge through continuous education, in technologies including MPLS, DIA Internet, 802.11x, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Wireless Controller, Fortinet firewall, Meraki firewall, Cisco ASA firewall, Cisco Nexus, Cisco Viptela SDWAN, VLAN

 

About you

  • 3-5+ years of technical experience in a network engineering role preferably in a 24 x 7 IT environment
  • Expert Knowledge of Physical and Virtual Switching / Routing environments, common network protocols, and dynamic routing
  • Strong Data Center & Cloud Environment Background, preferred AWS, Azure
  • Ability to maintain, develop and interpret written IT policies and procedures
  • Advanced communication skills in English, oral, written, and presentation
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% 
  • Occasionally work outside business hours
  • Cisco Certifications Preferred: CCNP or other comparable certifications
  • Familiarity with ISO and PCI standards
