Data Warehouse Engineer II (Remote)

Full time, United States

 

The senior data warehouse engineer role will serve as a technical subject matter expert within the Operations Technology Transformation organization, leading the design, development, and optimization of scalable enterprise data solutions. This role is responsible for architecting and implementing robust data pipelines, cloud-based data platforms, and analytical frameworks that support strategic business initiatives and operational excellence.

 

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in cloud data engineering, database development, and data architecture with strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills. Working closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and analytics teams, this individual will deliver reliable, end-to-end data solutions across development, UAT, and production environments.

 

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement scalable data architectures, and ensure clean, reliable data flow from multiple sources into the enterprise data warehouse
  • Design and manage scalable cloud-based data platforms, database schemas, data models and optimize query performance
  • Assemble and manage large, complex datasets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements
  • Architect and implement robust data pipelines for the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) of data from multiple internal and external sources
  • Establish and maintain data models, data integration patterns, and engineering best practices to ensure high-quality, reliable data delivery
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise data solutions that support operational, analytical, and business intelligence requirements
  • Develop scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data processing solutions that support growing business demands
  • Monitor and improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of data platforms and pipelines
  • Support our analytic tools and data solutions that enable actionable insights into key business performance metrics
  • Support operational reporting, performance measurement, and business intelligence initiatives
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to ensure data assets are structured, accessible, and optimized for reporting and analysis
  • Develop and optimize high-performance SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and database objects to support reporting and analytics requirements
  • Implement query tuning and performance optimization strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Provide technical guidance and best practices to analytics team members regarding effective and efficient use of enterprise data assets
  • Partner closely with product owners, business stakeholders, data analysts, and technology teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
  • Support data solution delivery across development, testing, UAT, and production environments
  • Participate in solution design reviews, technical planning sessions, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve data pipeline failures, data quality issues, and performance bottlenecks
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure data reliability and operational stability
  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvements across data platforms and processes

 

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Extensive experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or related technical roles
  • Strong experience designing and developing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure data services
  • Advanced SQL development skills, including query optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning
  • Experience working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, and data integration principles
  • Experience supporting analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

The salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US for the position of Data Warehouse Engineer II is between $75,000 and $129,000. The actual pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience and geographical location.
