Corporate Meeting Planner (Hybrid)
Full time, Auburn Hills, MI, United States

 

We are looking for a Corporate Meeting Planner who will ensure that corporate meetings and events are professionally researched, planned, and managed. The type of meetings and events could range from executive board meetings with 20 attendees to large internal conferences with 1,000+ attendees. We are looking for someone who has proven expertise in organizing and managing multiple meetings and projects simultaneously. Willingness and desire to assist the team and department are crucial for this role.

 

As a Corporate Meeting Planner, you will

  • Be accountable for planning duties, including budget development, management and reconciliation, destination and venue searching, and supplier recommendation and selection 
  • Use registration and event management tools (Cvent experience preferred)
  • Manage supporting suppliers, including Destination management companies, caterers, agencies, and/or printers, and brand merchandising partner(s)
  • Manage an onsite team of travel directors, including leading daily meetings
  • Maintain a high level of customer service in conjunction with effective verbal and written communication
  • Ensure compliance with all of the Client’s policies, procedures, and processes

 

About you

  • Extensive experience in corporate meeting operations is required, with automotive sector experience a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of the hotel contract process, with the ability to negotiate hotel contracts with little or no supervision
  • Proven negotiation skills (hotel, DMC, offsite venues) and the ability to show negotiated savings
  • Ability to manage the full scope of a program with a budget of up to 5M, including developing, managing, and reconciling budget
  • Ability to plan executive-level meetings and work with C-level attendees 
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Travel required (20-30%)
  • Tech-savvy with a high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel

The salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US for the position of Corporate Meeting Planner is between $57,000 and $80,000. The actual pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience and geographical location.
