The Collective – BCD Meetings & Events

We’re looking for an Operations Manager to lead our Venue Search team—driving innovation, elevating client experiences, and ensuring flawless delivery across every stage of the sourcing process. This role blends strategic thinking, team leadership, supplier partnership management, and operational excellence.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing Venue Search team.
  • Oversee sourcing strategy, destination recommendations, and venue selection for client programs.
  • Manage team workload, performance, SOP compliance, and service quality.
  • Serve as the escalation point for client issues and ensure SLAs are consistently met.
  • Strengthen supplier relationships and identify new destination and hotel partners.
  • Drive process improvements, workflow efficiency, and adoption of tools like Cvent and Monday.com.
  • Support financial management including budgets, reporting, preferred partner usage, and contract review.

 

What You Bring

  • 10+ years in sourcing, negotiating, or contracting within meetings/events/hospitality.
  • 2–3 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of event industry trends, destinations, and supplier landscape.
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Cvent, Monday.com, or Smartsheet is a plus.
  • CMP, Bachelor’s degree, or hotel operations background preferred.

Travel requirements for this role are as follows:Less than 25% 

We carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors, including your professional background and experience. The salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US for the position of Operations Manager Groups- Venue Search  is between $75,000 - $95,000. The actual pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience, geographical location, and project budget.
