About the role:
The Contract Specialist is responsible for reviewing and negotiating clients individual hotel and venue contract agreements and addenda, as well as master service agreements (MSA) to ensure both commercial and legal terms are compliant and mitigate risk.
You will expedite the contracting process by bringing a singular focus to the management of event contracts; taking ownership of the contracting workflow, managing the process, and the stakeholders. You will act as a collaborative point of contact. Simplifying every step by; reviewing terms, identifying outliers, challenging non-compliance, and negotiating better terms.

As a Contract Solutions Specialist, you will:
- Administer the contracting process in line with client process and standard operating procedures (SOP) , including proofreading for accuracy, careful review, and negotiation of both commercial and legal T’s and C’s for hotel and venue contracts, Addendum & MSA, in accordance with established standards and best practices.
- Know your stakeholders within the workflow. Understand the support they will need from you, their role within the process, and who you can lean into for guidance and when.
- Enable informed decisions by highlighting risks, negotiating effectively to minimise them, confirming compliance, understanding fallbacks and presenting practical mitigations.
- Use all available frameworks, checklists, tools & guidelines to record progress, present positions and achieve outcomes .
- Escalate challenges appropriately, never hiding problems but facing them head on and presenting them openly and honestly.
- Be the primary point of contact for the client contracting process. Manage communications with suppliers & within BCD, use all reasonable endeavours & tenacity to achieve great outcomes.
You should have:
- A legal/contract management background, either by way of education and /or working experience OR working knowledge of the Meeting & Events industry; to include the sourcing & contracting of global meetings & events
- Strong proofreading, attention to detail and administrative capability
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- High personal organisation and time management standards
- Comfortable dealing with people at all levels both face to face and virtually
- The tenacity & motivation to achieve the best outcome, overcoming obstacles to do so
- Able to consistently meet deadlines even when doing so is challenging
- Proficient MS Office skills including Outlook, Word, & Excel

• This role is hybrid based with days spent in either our London or Derby Office
• Our standard working hours are 9:00am-5:30pm with an hour lunch break
