About the role:

 

Are you a strategic client leader with a strong background in meetings, events, and account management? BCD M&E is looking for an experienced Account Manager to lead and grow key client relationships, deliver operational excellence, and drive long-term success.

In this role, you will be responsible for the retention, strategic development, and management of assigned accounts, while ensuring exceptional client service and strong team leadership. This position is split 50% supporting a pharma/life sciences client locally and 50% supporting major local or regional accounts in France.

 

 

As Account Manager, you will:

 

 

Client & Account Management

  • Own and strengthen client relationships across assigned accounts
  • Lead account strategy, retention, and growth initiatives
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term account goals with clients
  • Conduct regular client meetings, including annual account reviews
  • Act as the key link between clients and operational teams
  • Monitor client expectations and adjust service approaches as needed

 

Financial & Budget Oversight

  • Manage account financial performance, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Report monthly on spend, savings, and profitability
  • Proactively identify budget variances and recommend solutions

 

Leadership & Operational Support

  • Provide clear direction and leadership to operational teams
  • Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support consistency in service delivery, quality, and timelines
  • Help resolve day-to-day operational challenges at a high level

 

Supplier, Reporting & Technology

  • Monitor preferred supplier usage and ensure compliance
  • Oversee accurate and timely supplier spend reporting
  • Identify trends through reporting and recommend improvements
  • Advise on customer-specific reporting requirements and technology solutions
  • Stay current on industry trends, benchmarks, and BCD M&E products and services

 

 

You’re good at:

  • Maintaining the highest level of quality, professionalism and integrity when negotiating with suppliers and dealing with clients and colleagues
  • You have proven experience in account / client management role(s)
  • Proven experience within the meetings & events industry
  • Experience with influencing stakeholders
  • Proven track record on successful client negotiation
  • Expertise in deriving insights from data and analytics
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentations
  • Competency to manage client relationships-establishing, developing and maintaining client trust and loyalty over time and through changes
  • Ability to identify customer needs and respond creatively listening to information, asking probing questions, applying knowledge and determining solutions
  • Ability to travel as required for client meetings and/or networking / industry or key client events 
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Experience in pharmaceutical meeting / congress sector preferred
