About the role:

Due to continued business growth we are looking for an Account Director to join our Strategic Meeting Management Account Management team. In this role you will be directly accountable to achieve both client, and BCD M&E, goals related to local / regional SMM program strategy, innovation & optimisation; client retention, contractual obligations, and customer ROI goals for the programme, financial performance, profitability, quality of service, preferred vendor performance, technology, efficiencies, forward thinking thought process and business development.

 

You will be responsible for growing and maintaining a portfolio of clients – predominately in the pharmaceutical sector. We are seeking a self-motivated individual who will approach the role with enthusiasm and passion. Strong interpersonal skills are required to build upon our existing client relationships and identify development opportunities for growth in the future. Passion for a blend of virtual and face-to-face activity and relationship development with clients are essential to educate, maintain and grow your client base within the allocated accounts.

As a Account Director, you will:

  • To create an account strategy to drive sales and relationships across the business for owned pharmaceutical SMM accounts.
  • Understand and evaluate customer opportunities for; process improvement, technology solutions, identify and evaluate individual projects.
  • To retain clients and to own and undertake (supported by your wider team) any RFI, RFP or client pitches ensuring key client objectives are met on message, on time and on budget.
  • To build and develop effective business relationships with existing client portfolio and internal service delivery teams to achieve overall business objectives.
  • To support the client marketing strategy by attending value add familiarisation visits, networking event and utilising social media and supporting any marketing activity.
  • Have the ability to work under pressure and on multiple projects simultaneously, managing competing priorities

 

You’re good at:

  • Embedded experience with Life Science clients and understanding of compliance requirements
  • Strategic thinker with Strategic meetings management experience
  • Proven track record on successful client negotiation for a meetings management programme within an meetings agency environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentations, RFP writing
  • Demonstrate ability to respond to change accordingly
  • Ability to identify customer needs and respond creatively listening to information, asking probing questions, applying knowledge and determining solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in contract negotiations, management and administration of contract terms
  • Ability to travel as required for client meetings and/or networking / industry events

 

 

You might also have:

  • Knowledge of meetings & events pricing
  • Experience of using Cvent meeting technology
  • Knowledge of Event Apps

 

You should know:

  • This is a UK Remote role that requires travel to meetings around the UK and overseas
  • Our standard working hours are 9.00am – 5:30pm with an hour break, on occasion you will need to flex your working hours to meet with client and global teams schedules
  • You must have the right to work in the UK
