DevOps Engineer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Job-Specific Core Responsibilities: DevOps Engineer
Design, Build, and Enhance Automation Solutions
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain automation solutions using Microsoft Power Automate (cloud and desktop flows).
- Build workflows that improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and increase process consistency.
- Develop scalable, supportable solutions using approved Power Platform tools and patterns.
- Contribute to enhancements and continuous improvement of existing automations.
Translate Business Needs into Practical Solutions
- Partner with stakeholders to understand processes, pain points, and business goals.
- Document current-state and future-state processes, translating requirements into technical designs.
- Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and standardization.
- Recommend practical, user-friendly solutions aligned with operational needs.
Support Production Reliability and Operational Excellence
- Monitor automation performance and troubleshoot production issues promptly.
- Perform root cause analysis, defect resolution, and ongoing maintenance.
- Build solutions with exception handling, resiliency, logging, and supportability.
- Minimize business disruption by ensuring stable and reliable operations.
Follow Governance, Security, and Delivery Standards
- Develop solutions in line with Power Platform governance, security, and compliance standards.
- Apply approved practices for naming conventions, documentation, connector usage, and deployment controls.
- Ensure secure-by-design development and proper handling of business/customer data.
- Escalate risks or design concerns when standards are not met.
Support Testing, Release Management, and Documentation
- Create and maintain technical documentation, support guides, test plans, and release notes.
- Perform unit testing, support integration testing, and assist with UAT.
- Follow structured deployment and lifecycle management practices.
- Ensure solutions are production-ready before deployment.
Collaborate Across Teams and Build Future Capabilities
- Work closely with analysts, developers, business stakeholders, and technology partners globally.
- Contribute reusable components, best practices, and ideas to improve delivery.
- Support enablement activities such as walkthroughs, user guidance, and adoption support.
- Stay current on evolving Microsoft automation and low-code capabilities, including AI Builder and Copilot.

- Internal: Senior Manager – Automation & Low-Code Solutions, BPA AI & Automation Analysts, Business stakeholders across BCD Meetings & Events
- External: Approved technology vendors and platform support partners
Education / Knowledge / Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years in automation, workflow development, RPA, or low-code technology roles.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Automate (cloud & desktop flows).
- Strong skills in translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience in troubleshooting, enhancing, and supporting production automations.
- Knowledge of process improvement and workflow design.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments with attention to detail and adaptability.
Preferred:
- Experience with broader Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Dataverse, AI Builder, Power BI).
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 integrations (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook).
- Experience with APIs, connectors, and third-party integrations.
- Knowledge of enterprise testing, deployment, monitoring, and support practices.
- Understanding of governance, compliance, and security in Power Platform.
- Experience supporting automation in service-driven environments.
- Exposure to AI-enabled workflow solutions and generative AI tools (e.g., EMPOWER Assist).
