Accountant
Singapore

The accountant works as an outsource as part of the M&E APAC finance team and is responsible for the full sets of accounts of M&E Singapore, which includes Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Fixed Assets and General Ledger.

Your responsibilities:

Project Reconciliation:

• Match transactions using all systems/tools at your disposal, such as back-office report, back-office systems, contact with vendors, customers, and credit card companies.
• Work with internal co-workers, customers, vendors, and any relevant stakeholders for project reconciliation
• Check that all items are accounted for during final reconciliation stage before final billing is issued.

Month-end Closing:

• Responsible for full spectrum of accounts, including accounts payables, accounts receivables, general ledger, and fixed assets.
• Prepare month end journal entries in compliance with local GAAP and company policies.
• Ensure sufficient supporting documents for each entry posted.


Reporting:

• Ensure timely closing of month end report and related deliverables in accordance with global/regional calendar.
• Complete and review monthly company profit & loss account and all sections of the Balance Sheet accurately and on a timely basis.
• Prepare supplementary reporting, analysis, and support on Balance Sheet reconciliation.
• Work closely with operations team on billing, AR collection matters and payment matters.
• Prepare annual budget, monthly re-forecasts and variance analysis.
• Prepare quarterly tax package to be reported to Global Tax team.
• Prepare annual CRP – which includes preparation of Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, Notes to Accounts

Bank Responsibilities:

• Post customer payments and billings by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
• Follow up with internal co-workers and customers on AR collection.
• Research and resolve unallocated cash & client’s overpayment.
• Perform weekly cashflow forecast to be reported to Global Treasury

Billings:

• Prepare billing as required.
• Post transaction and clear in SAP when amount has been received.
• Ad hoc responsibilities as assigned.

Payments:


• Check and prepare payments, ensuring all transactions are with proper approval, recorded timely and accurately in SAP.

• Verify all payment and claims for expense reimbursement, corporate card and travel expenses.

Compliance:


• Prepare annual statutory financial statements for the legal entity.

• Work closely with tax agent to prepare annual income tax computation.
• Prepare GST report on quarterly basis to be submitted to BCD Travel for group GST filing.
• Work closely with auditors to manage and complete the annual financial audit in a timely manner.

Training:

• Seek Knowledge Hub courses and seek out opportunity for various instruction on updates to perform the functions lined out that you are responsible for, stay current on tools and processes, take required training sessions.

Communication:

• Proficient in writing and speaking English.
• Collaborate with other teams and/or suppliers to develop best practices and solutions.
• Strong customer service, analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills

Knowledge:


• Implement creative uses of technology to help decrease transaction processing time and manual involvement.

• Plan and organize projects to ensure company objectives are met.
• Facilitation of, and participation in, activities with internal business partners to understand and gather business needs and requirements.

Tools & Technology:


• Look for continuous process improvement.

• Creating new department processes with accompanying documentation as directed and approved by supervisor or manager.
• Providing training to internal department
• Use effective time management to work on multiple requests concurrently and deliver on time per department service level agreement.

Projects:


• Open to new projects, learn other areas within the department and be available to be a backup resource, present an understanding of adaptability and flexibility.


Others:

• Work closely with BCD Travel Finance team, for example on intercompany matters and GST reporting matters.
• Report to Regional Finance Manager or Regional Finance Director on any important matters arising as soon as they have been made known or identified, so that necessary actions can be taken.
