Project Leader - Group Air, Meetings & Events

Full time, Belgium

Works at least one day in our offices and the balance from home.


We are looking for a Project Leader - Group Air, Meetings & Events to join our dynamic team.  The role is responsible for booking and/or ticketing airline reservations requested by our program participants and as assigned by our Attendee Services Coordinators.  The position performs at an intermediate level and demonstrates an understanding and applicability of all areas in the travel industry.  Works independently on assigned tasks.  Takes the initiative to provide assistance to team members and management as requested. Sound like you? As a Project Leader - Group Air, Meetings & Events you will

 

  • Make airline reservations using the GDS system
  • Issue airline tickets, voids, refunds, and exchanges as needed
  • Monitor and manage the email air folder and GDS queues for the program
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the GDS and registration technology systems
  • Pull daily reports from the registration tool to capture air booking data and special requests
  • Stay up-to-date with program/event details and communicate any changes to the team
  • Support and coordinate the traveler approval process to ensure successful group meetings and travel events
  • Collaborate with managers and staff to address quality control discrepancies and internal errors
  • Complete assigned work within specified SLAs
  • Respond to requests accurately and promptly
  • Work within budgetary guidelines and communicate any concerns to the Attendee Services Coordinator
  • Manage block space, if applicable
  • Utilize BCD tools and systems to fulfill requests
  • Adhere to BCD policies and procedures to maintain quality control
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge and application of airline supplier rules
  • Cross check work using appropriate reports

About You

  • Proficiency in the use of GDS Amadeus required
  • Business level communication skills in Dutch, French and English required
  • Experience working in a travel agency setting, with working knowledge of domestic and international air travel destinations, paired with solid geography skills
  • Previous experience working in a team environment preferred, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing among co-workers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently, exercising discretion and judgment
  • Demonstrated excellent professional customer service and problem resolution skills
  • Strong problem solving and/or critical thinking skills
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with a strong ability to manage multiple complex projects and shifting timetables
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Strong listening and evaluating skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to anticipate unstated client/traveler needs
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to ever-changing scenarios
